Adding cryptocurrency price widgets to your dashboard – no code required
Cryptocurrencies have really proved themselves in the last few years. Though how people perceive them vary greatly, with some seeing them more as investments and others effectively using them in actual transactions, there’s no doubt that crypto has found its place in the current financial landscape. Whether you have a personal interest in it, or you’re in a company dealing with it, having a way of keeping an eye on the main prices can give you an edge when making decisions.
We’ll teach you how to integrate a Coinlib widget to a dashboard so you always have the latest prices for the main cryptocurrencies.
Time to build the tool ⏱:
- 1min on average.
Costs to test 💰:
- Coinlib ($0 for the widgets) + Jestor ($0 under 200 actions/mo) = $0.00*
*costs may vary according to different providers pricing changes.
2 Steps to Add cryptocurrency price widgets to your dashboard
1. Get an embeddable HTML code for your widget.
Go to the widgets section in Coinlib. There, you can find and customize a myriad of widgets, from charts with price history to calculators. We’re going to go with the first one, the one that displays the price of multiple coins. After you’re done setting it up, copy the code snippet in the “Code” box.
2. Create an app to see the widget.
- Embedded: click on the + icon, then Embedded. Name it “Crypto”, then paste the code you got in step one.
Resize the component to your liking and save.
You will now have a widget that shows not only the current price of the main coins, but also the trend for them! This can really help you identify if some coin is increasing or decreasing in value and, if you need more information, all you need to do is click on the coin you wish to know more about :)
