If you’re making a public app in Jestor, there are some widgets that can be particularly cool to have to help your user. For example, if you have a public app with info of your company and you have a physical location such as a store or an office open to the public, you may want to show a preview of the façade so they can be acquainted with it before going.
We’ll teach you how to add a Google Street View to a dashboard to display an interactive 3D view of a location.
Time to build the tool ⏱:
- 1min 26sec on average.
2 Steps to Add a Google Street View to a dashboard – no code required
1. Create an embeddable HTML code.
Go to Google Maps and search for the location you wish to display. Then, drag the View icon (a little orange person) to the location in the map. This will open a street view to that place. Click and drag the screen to better frame the view, as this will be reflected in the app. Now, click on the three dots on the top left part of the screen and click on “Share or embed image”. Select the Embed map tab, and copy the HTML code snippet.
2. Create an app to see the view.
- Embedded: click on the + icon, then Embedded. Name it “Street View”, then paste the code you got in step one.
Resize the component to your liking and save.
Now, the dashboard will display an interactive view of your location! Don’t worry, even if you make a public app, someone changing the view while using it won’t affect the start location of the other users. It’s a simple integration, but one that gives your app a very cool feature in just two steps :)
